Prof. Esther Ekom Robert

A distinguished scholar and educator dedicated to advancing scholarship in English studies, general English, and sociolinguistics through rigorous research and academic mentorship.

Professor Esther Ekom Robert is a seasoned scholar and educator with extensive experience across primary, secondary, and tertiary levels of education. She began her professional journey with a teaching qualification from the Teachers’ Training College (TTC), Ogoja, Cross River State, and later obtained further professional training at the College of Education, Cross River State. These formative years grounded her in classroom practice and pedagogical excellence, as she taught in both primary and secondary schools.

Driven by a commitment to academic advancement, she earned a Bachelor’s degree in English Education, followed by a Master’s degree in English, and subsequently a Doctorate (PhD) in English. Her postgraduate training was completed at the University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, and the University of Calabar, Cross River State, where she developed strong scholarly in English with area of specialisation in General English and Sociolinguistics.

Her academic career spans teaching and lecturing appointments at Colleges of Education, where she contributed significantly to teacher training and curriculum development. She is currently a lecturer at the University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, where she is actively engaged in teaching, research, and academic mentorship.

She has conducted extensive academic research, supervised undergraduate and postgraduate students, and made meaningful contributions to scholarship through published books and research works. Her academic interests reflect a strong commitment to advancing knowledge in English studies and to nurturing future scholars through rigorous teaching and supervision.
